Jaffer Group

Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, the Jaffer Group of Companies is a conglomerate of entities in real estate development, construction, hospitality and property management. Their expanded operations also include Phoenix, Arizona and Seattle, Washington.

Jaffer had historically preferred to deal only with local suppliers. The management team decided it was appropriate to start exploring overseas purchasing options on interior furnishings, kitchen cabinetry, plumbing fixtures and furniture.

Late in 2015, TAK began doing preliminary work for Jaffer on the possibility of sourcing from China. We assisted with identifying multiple factory direct suppliers, using TAK’s internal engineers to provide quality assurance.

We brought Jaffer’s senior management to China to visit suppliers and have face to face exchanges. This was a tremendous opportunity to address concerns and plan various business scenarios. Together we formed final placement designs with each of the qualified suppliers.

These international orders provide significant savings compared to their previous arrangements. We also performed regular site inspections and report back to Jaffer throughout the manufacturing cycle.

This project is a great example of a start to finish that leveraged the full strength of the TAK team. We created a strong partnership to understand a business opportunity, discovered ideal suppliers and delivered a high-quality product for savings.
